Help Lake Tippecanoe and LTPO celebrate our nation’s 250th Anniversary with a patriotic themed event, boat owners are encouraged to decorate their boats with a patriotic theme.
– Cash prizes for first, second, and third place based on judges decision
-Boat parade begins and ends at Patona Bay Marina and begins traveling south or counter clockwise. While we cannot extend the Floatilla to James Lake (Little Tippy) or Lake Oswego, we do hope all friends of Lake Tippecanoe will join us and view from a safe area.
– We again wish to encourage folks to not swim out to boats and require our Floatilla participants to not throw T-shirts or candy from boats.
– Same-day registration on July 4th will be at Patona Bay from 10 AM to noon . Check Facebook for event updates.
While mother nature did not treat this year’s Flotilla kindly, I can honestly say the modest turnout was met with enthusiasm and smiles by those participating in the festivities and watching from boats and shore.
CONGRATULATIONS
#1 – Suzanne Lyon with the theme TIPPY FIRE FIGHTER WOMEN
#2 – Charles K. Joyner with the theme of FIRE TRUCK
#3 – Lisa Finch with the theme of IMPD – FINCH FAMILY HEROS
Not to be left out several floaters also walked away with cash awards.
If it was not for Kathy Woodsmall and B.K. Turner judging the event I would have been lost. They made some crucial decisions since all floaters are winners. Thank you for your time and effort.
Special recognition goes out to Patona Bay for the use of an awesome pontoon. Ace Hardware in No. Webster, The Mail Journal and Kosciusko Sheriff Department.
I’m particularly fond of this year’s theme of Honoring First Responders. Those courageous women and men must be recognized as superheroes.
The 2024 Flotilla theme will be announced in the near future. Its concept is under strict non-disclosure. However, any ideas are welcome.
A Wave Away,
Flotilla Chairman – Dan Drook
